NATIONAL GRAPHIC DESIGN COMPETITION 2019 – REGISTRATIONS CLOSING SOON!

Here at Ideas Foundation, we’re delighted to be collaborating with WorldSkills UK for the fifth year running! We’ll be supporting the 2019 Graphic Design Competition, and with registrations closing on 5th April, here’s everything you need to know about how to get involved.

Essential skills for the creative industry

National Skills Competitions have been creating excitement and passion for learning in young people for 65 years, and this year is no exception. Through competing, students and apprentices will learn crucial skills to help them in their chosen job area.

The Graphic Design Competition kicks off with an online creative brief and culminates in an epic live final at the WorldSkills UK event in November 2019. Finalists will compete for national bronze, silver and gold medals, but everyone goes away armed with essential skills for the creative industry workplace.

How to register for the 2019 Graphic Design Competition

Students from all Further Education Colleges across the UK are eligible to enter, with a maximum of 10 student entries per college. Don’t hang about – registration for the online round of the competition closes on April 5th.

The Creative Brief

This year’s online creative brief has been created by Social Chain, a global social media marketing agency. The brief is currently top secret, but there’s one thing we can confirm: it’s sure to unleash the creative talents of our entrants more than ever before…

A big thank you to Social Chain for joining us!

A brand new partner

We’re also delighted to announce that our new WSUK Competition Organising Partner is none other than our brilliant North West Further Education partner, The Manchester College. And super tutor, Ben Elson from the college’s Creative and Media department will be spearheading the college’s involvement.

A few words from Ben:

“The Manchester College are delighted to be partnering with IF to take on the running of the Graphic Design Competition for WorldSkills UK. We have a history of being part of the Creative Media competition as competitors, and to now deliver a competition ourselves is a real privilege.”

The Competition that keeps on giving

Taking part really opens doors for our competition entrants. Previous gold medal winner, Ryan Scurfield has now progressed from his BTEC Level 3 Graphic Design Extended Diploma to a BA(hons) in Graphic Design at the University of Leeds. And we can’t wait to see what our other finalists do next.

Want to hear about the competition experience from one of our entrants? Find out more from 2018 winner, Caspian Reynolds of Mid Kent College by reading our News Article introducing him!

And good luck to all of our new entrants for 2019!
